THERAPHOSA APOPHYSIS


This specie was discovered 187 years later than T. Blondi and that's why it's not well known. Many scientists means that T. Blondi is the biggest specie of spiders, but this spider can grow about 33cm leg span, so in some cases it can be bigger than T. Blondi.

We find it in Venezuela and it's very rare specie at collectors, because it's very expensive: about 400-450 US dollars. Besides that we can't get this specie so easily

Males are grown up at the age of 2 and a half years, female at the age of 1 and a half years.

The humidity should be between 75-80% and the temperature between 23-25°C.

This specie is an aggressive and nervous one, so it's not appropriate for beginners. For base we use at least 10 cm of peat and a piece of bark for it's hiding-place.

We feed them with crickets, grasshoppers, sometimes also with a mouse. When it's grown up, we can also feed them with bigger animals, like adult mouse, lizards, …
